July 4 - Brounland Road Ride (Map/Cue Sheet), Class B - 43 Class C 32 Miles, 8:99 AM Alum Creek Elementary School. Turn Left off of 119 South at Brounland Road Exit.

July 11 - Ravenswood Ramble Ride, Class A, B, C. 8:00 AM , Park-n-ride, Ohis side of Ravenswood Bridge.

July 18-19 = Lewisburg Camping Weekend, Greenbrier State Forest

July 18 - Memory Ride, 8:00 Univ. of Charleston.

JUly 25 - Bickmore Ride, Class B/C 57 Miles, 8:00 Am. Columbia Gas building in Clendenin, 22 mils from Charleston.

Safety Requirements

Helmets must be worn on all rides and must meet Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), ASTM, or Snell standards.

Verbal communication is important for safe group riding so Ipods are highly discouraged.

Use of eyeglasses and gloves are encouraged.

Riders under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Emergency Contact Information Project

The club wants to be sure that every rider carries emergency information when they ride. We can never be sure when a medical emergency or accident will require the information. Read More

Membership

For just $15 for an individual membership or $18 for a family membership, you too can become a year long member of the Mountain State Wheelers Bicycle Club. A printable version of the membership application is available online. As a member you'll receive a monthly issue of our Newsletter"Spoke Notes", get added to our e-mail group, plus become part of the most active group of riders in West Virginia. You'll receive information on weekday rides, regular weekend road or mountain bike excursions, camping weekends, and touring events. Persons who join after Oct. 31st, are credited for the next calendar year. For additional information about the club, visit the Membership page.

Grant Request Process

The club has limited funds to available for the promotion of cycling in the Charleston, West Virginia area. Applications must be received by March 15th and September 16th and will we reviewed and voted on by the membership at the Sping and Fall meetings. It is anticipated that the applications would be for less than $1,000. Click here for the the full application process.

Save the Turtles Contest

A $40 prize for the most saves and $20 for the second most turtle saves is being offered to the member who safely removes the most turtles from roads this riding season. Save the Turtle Contest. Click here to learn more.
